1.What is the measurement unit in Taiwan?
Taiwan uses the metric system for ping (坪), despite ping originally being a traditional Chinese unit of area. See below for the relationship between ping and square meters and square feet:
- 1 ping = 3.3058 square meters
- 1 ping = 35.58 square feet

2.Net Size vs. Gross Size?
Net Size:
The actual usable or livable space within the apartment. It includes the area enclosed by the walls but excludes common areas, walls, and other spaces not considered part of the internal living space.
Gross Size:
The entire floor area covered by the apartment, including both the private and shared or common spaces (including the gym, swimming pool, lobby, hallways, staircases, etc).
Rule of Thumb:
Buildings without elevator (公寓): gross size = net size , as these buildings do not have any common areas.
Buildings with elevators (電梯大樓): Gross size = net size x 0.7
