Tips to Keep Your Toilet and Drains Clog-Free
Learn essential tips to avoid clogs in your home. Discover simple maintenance steps and the best products to keep your drains and toilets running smoothly, including advice on using filters and water-soluble toilet paper.
Prevent drainage holes clogging
- Avoid hair or insoluble substances from falling into the drain holes
- Clean your drains periodically (once every 2 weeks) to prevent cloggages from accumulating.
- Tip: add a filter on each of the drain and replace it regularly to avoid the water pipes from getting clogged from hairs and other substances.
*Remove the drainage hole and clean it regularly
Prevent toilets from clogging
Do NOT throw wipes and excessive toilet paper down the toilets – it will cause cloggage over time especially in older buildings where pipes are narrower
- If you have to throw tissue paper down, buy water soluble ones (these will usually be marked on the toilet paper labels).
